(620) 793-6523 or (620) 792-6824. Make checks payable to Barton County Open Horse Show. Late entries will be taken until 8:00 A.M. day of show with a $10.00 per horse late charge.

1. Hats, boots and long sleeve shirts required. Chaps are optional and will not effect judging.
2. Proper registration papers required for Registered Classes. NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. Stallions will not be shown by anyone under the age of 21. The judge reserves the right to dismiss a stallion from exhibiting in any class if there is ANY doubt about control and safety. This decision will be FINAL.
4. Any rider or handler not having sufficient control of his/her horse will be dismissed from the arena.
5. WALK ONLY anywhere around the outside of arena including Grandstand and Concession area.
6. NO RUNNING ALLOWED anyplace except in arena while completing. Warm-up lope permitted in areas away from arena only.
7. No horses permitted to be tied to arena fence, anywhere around pens or to the Grandstands.
8. NO HORSES UNDER GRANDSTANDS OR BETWEEN GRANDSTANDS AND ARENA FENCE at any time.
9. NO PARKING of trailers or campers, etc closer than 30' from arena. NO TARPS closer than 30' from arena.
10. Riders will be disqualified from any event for use of bats, whips, reins or spurs IN FRONT of cinch.
11. Riders will be disqualified from any event for misuse of hands or excessive roughness towards horse.
12. Gag bits, hackamores, tie-downs, martingales and draw reins will be permitted in timed events only. Unorthodox or severe mouthpieces and headstalls are not to be permitted in any class.
13. Horse and rider may be assisted into arena, but no assistance will be allowed to the starting line.
14. Time will start when horses' nose crosses starting line and stop when horses' nose crosses the finish line. If the horse crosses back over starting line before completing the course it will constitute a NO TIME.
15. Any barrel or pole knocked down will result in a 5 second penalty.
16. In the event of a tie, the contestants will have the option of a run off or coin flip.
