1. Read Open Class General Rules.
2. Participants must pay $5 pen fee.
3. The objective of these three classes are to present sheep in the most attractive manner, to
improve the image of sheep and to give spectators an opportunity to view well groomed sheep
shown by halter by attractively dressed boys and girls wearing wool garments. Entrants may
purchase or construct their own garment, which should consist of at least 60% wool exclusive of
accessories. Judging will be based on the attractiveness and suitability of the garment to the
contestants poise and appearance, and the contestant’s ability to control and present the sheep at
halter.
4. Entries in these classes are open to all individuals. The market lamb of breeding ewes used in
this class should be conditioned, fitted and trained to show on a halter. The sheep shown must be
part of the current county fair entries. No sheep may be brought in. Entrants are personally
responsible for negotiating the use of a sheep from the owner. Each contestant is responsible for
providing his or her own halter. It is suggested that lead participants become acquainted with the
sheep they will lead, prior to the show.
5. A short résumé of background and activities of contestant and sheep owner, and a description
of the contestant’s garments should be turned in at the fair office by noon the day before the
contest.

046 - Ladies Lead, 12-15 yrs.
047 - Ladies Lead, 15-18 yrs.
048 - Ladies Lead, 18 yrs. And older
049 - Shepherds Lead (Males), all ages
Awards
All classes will be awarded premiums and ribbons to the top three contestants. Also there will be
a $25 cash award for the overall grand prize winner.
